This policy explains what personal information Darren Talks collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Darren Talks is a free educational website about UK mortgages and homebuying, run by Darren Shepherd. Who is responsible for your data

Darren Talks is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. Our newsletter is delivered using MailerLite (listed below). You can reach us at hello@darrentalks.co.uk.

What we collect

• Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, and your name if you choose to give it.
• Messages and enquiries: anything you send us through a contact or question form, or by email, including your email address and the content of your message.
• We do not run advertising or analytics tracking on this site, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information only to send you the weekly newsletter you signed up for, and to reply to any message you send us. Our lawful basis for sending marketing emails is your consent, which you give when you subscribe and can withdraw at any time. Our basis for replying to enquiries is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and the newsletter, and they only process your data on our instructions:

• MailerLite, sends our newsletter and stores subscriber details.
• Cloudflare, hosts and protects the website.
• YouTube and Calendly, only if you choose to play an embedded video or open a booking link; at that point those services may set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your query and any follow-up.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing us. To exercise any right, contact hello@darrentalks.co.uk.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
